Everything is public by default, if needs be we could look at creating some private categories. If you need a private thread you can message someone here. Is that OK?

Hi, I just wanted to say hello. We’re a brand new member from Norwich https://www.itnorwich.uk and we hope to offer more socially responsible services to our customers in the very near future. I have personally been doing IT support since the late 1990’s and our business supports around 250 endpoints. We hope to have some or all of these systems leveraging services that are not provided by large US corporates. Wish us luck!

I’ve been using Web Architects’ email hosting for myself (https://www.derekkozel.com) and the Cardiff University Amateur Radio Society (https://www.cardiffars.org.uk) because I wanted to use and support a service run directly benefiting it’s workers. I was really happy to find a relatively local coop!

Thought I should finally get round to signing up to this forum!
I am Micah. I joined the web architects coop as a member being prompted to as I got hosting in form of a slim virtual server that I moved my websites to. I am happy to have left behind the previous cpanel based hosting I was using that with company using was a pain to add SSL certs to my domains, so glad now able to have all sites using Let’s Encrypt SSL certs.
I am not running databases nor PHP on the new server so converted some sites using WordPress to now use HUGO Static Site Generator, including my blog: Micah B . The workflow to update such sites is a bit clunky compared to the admin on WordPress. Word Press has good reasons to be popular and since it now auto-updates its core it is better on security than has been in the past, but need to keep themes and plugins up-to-date is still an issue. If anyone else looking at using HUGO I am happy to share more of my experience with it, as I further get to grips with using it. https://gohugo.io/
